    Gents,
Looking for some info regarding the above. As I understand it, basically if I work more than 183 days as a foreign alien (UK) for a US firm in the GOM I will be stitched for 30% ish tax to pay for "Billy-Bobs" new 4X4.

I beleive that all US ROV firms and their employees, US, UK or whatever have to pay.

Are any other big companies adjusting their pay packages i.e Helix, Acergy and the like?

    TIA

Where did you get your i nfo?
First I heard..I am Canadian and have a tentative 3 wks on 3 wks off hitch in the GoM deal.
Mind you we have a TN Visa which is under the NAFTA trade agreement and I have never been nailed with US tax but file in Canada.

You might want to get some proffesional people on the subject from the GoM.

Think you mean DMT….check their website.

I think the US$550 to $US600 is not the issue…the yanks are on a different wavelength at times…I have never seen so many Jr. offshore people .

This comes from the US governemnt and is pretty new.

It affects all Non US citizens who work in my case in the Gulf.

I am reading through all the paperwork from the companies lawyers and it’s pretty much heavy reading, but they seem to have all corners covered and there is no way out.

I will know a little more by Monday hopefully post lawyer meeting.

Still interested to hear from anyone in the Gulf at the moment.

No, DNT. DMT only employ JR’s I beleive. DNT operate in and around Italy.

Your right DMT is not the contractor I thought you were refering to.

Not all US citizens come under fire as you point out …we Canucks have it good with the NAFTA agreement.

Your legal contact will sort you out no doubt.
