No, not the ones with smiles on their faces down the harbour 🙂

Does anyone know a Uk source for stainless steel Happy Hookers – you know the ones that you use to pass a rope around a post (or mooring, as this is what they were originally designed for). I can only find plastic ones.

    As seen here http://www.go2marine.com/product.do?no=160403F

Once again Mr Shields, you promise so much and deliver so little, was hoping for a fruitful discussion about hookers most of which are very happy when they meet ROV people!!

They were first called Happy Hookers circa late 70’s

Fugro have ordered them in the past for SL25 on the Geomaster. Assuming they were of course stainless.

Would assume the number should be on file somewhere

Yes they are very good, but I still prefer two legged hookers 😆 😆 😆

We used Happy Hookers a lot before our ROV’s (eyeballs) got manipulators

It was standard practice with all the Scorpios in the early eighties to have Hookers on the systems. Nothing new but a great piece of kit for hook-ups 😀
They started to dwindle in supply late eighties because some safety PRATT deemed them unsafe 😯
Home Made Boats utilised the cheapest of cheaps using the plastic ones ………………. And they WERE nasty 😥
Thanks for that Ray , Good stuff
    😀
