    Aye your right,
The Norwegian parent company has pulled the plug on all of the UK operations….
A Big time Tommy Cooper (Just like That) 😯

Administrators have been called in, so another one bites the dust

    Watch this space… 😀

Not really space worth watching judging by recent announcements.

    Touche!
Nobody saw that one coming due to the ongoing / upcoming ROV contracts.
Probably the best thing, OSS splitting from OPU where evidently the majority of all the losses have come from.
    4 XLS ROV’s for sale?

I camer across one of Oceanteams XLS’s "hidden" in a yard near Aberdeen.

Wonder if they are keeping out of the prying eyes of the liquidator 🙂

Come on Ray stop spreading rumours.
The system you claim is hidden is being prepared for a contract starting Sunday. Mobilising on a boat in the harbour. if you look you will see it hidden on the deck by monday!!!!!!!!!!!
The yard in Aberdeen is rented short term as the OPU yard in dundee is in the hands of the liquidators.
    Lets get it straight.
Oceanteam power and umbilical is bankrupt.
Oceanteam Subsea services is operating normally although up for sale by the parent company oceanteam ASA.
Another system in storage is owned by ASA which is also for sale no doubt.

So they are mobbing it onto a job eh?

Given the background of the rest of the UK Oceanteam setup I would be wary working for a company that is ‘operating normally’ but also knowingly up for sale.

You could work for a few weeks and suddenly the pin would be pulled.. go home, no pay. Certainly not the first time that will have happened when working for an organisation with Oceanteam in the name somewhere.

There are better deals around no doubt.

I’m back there next week, I’ll let you know if it moves. Sitting having nothing done to it is not what I call "being prepared". Maybe a different system we are talking about, would you like the number?

XLS 51 has been mobbed to the Deep Cygnus for TSM, the ROV you are talking about is XLS44 which is indeed lurking in a yard near Aberdeen.

HA! as you know everything is for sale. At a price 😀

    Ching Ching!!!!

Personally though not worth touching, unless the buyer has a decent budget.
It will be a totally bare system, just as it came out of PSSL, apart from being 2nd hand.

    Good luck.

    Hi Cable_man,
Here David from USA.Correct on the workshop stores situation but . On two seperate jobs/xlss both came back virtually trashed and cost a serious fortune to repair the damage!! Both contracts almost totally manned by contractors, probably not all as experienced as the cv made out.Another point is that OPU is different to OSS the rov operating company.Although granted both owned by the same umbrella company. Thanks Have a nice Day.

I am not suprised , they have brand new XLS ROVs but the company is not well managed for operations and relies on experienced Contractors as a the permies are mostly all trainees and the back orifice staff are incompetants ……eg: sending an ROV to a job with empty workshop,no tools ,spares consumables etc etc and half the control cabin equipment missing among other errors and then doing nought about it for 2 weeks.

    that sounds like Global Industries.
