    Not if they want to live in Oz.

    If they become non resident and work and live overseas then they follow the tax laws of the country they are resident in – which could be 0%.

    or if you are working outside the UK you can still claim tax back as a non resident, no matter if working on platforms, drill rigs or vessels and port calls not an issue either.

    If you live in Oz but work over 183 days outside of the country you can declare these earnings as foreign and pay no tax on this.

    If you do some work in Oz during that financial year then you will be taxed on this at a higher tax bracket as the foreign earnings are counted towards which tax bracket you fit into.

    There are other ways to reduce your tax in oz…

    I worked with an Aussie last year who became non resident from Oz for tax purposes only you would probably be best asking an accountant for the facts or move to Balli
