The role – This is a customer facing role to provide support and advice to customers after the delivery to them of SMD equipment. The successful candidate will initially report to the Principal Operations & Support Manager, and it is expected that once trained, will migrate into the Trenching Business Stream.
• Provide expert after sales support and advice.
• Understand customer operations.
• Provide a service to customers that enhance our ability to get repeat orders.
• Be the liaison between the customer and other SMD personnel to provide the client with solutions.
• Be the customer’s focal point for post delivery support.
• Provide technical advice on operational issues.
• Provide quotations to customers for service work.
• Arrange for such work to be carried out.
• Deal with warranty claims and request for repairs.
• Arrange for SMD Offshore Support personnel for clients to assist with mobilisation and ongoing operations.
• Man (as part of the team) the 24 / 7 after service helpline.
• Assist customers during operational emergencies.
