    Hi Gentlemen,
I’m Having a problem, hope you guys can help. Our HPU keeps tripping but we’re not getting any GFD lims or with the megger. Its starts intermittently then get’s worse til it doesn’t reset anymore. We’ve meggered the umbilical from the winch stationary j-box all the way to the ROV j- box and got a reading of over 200m Ohms. The (used but New) motor reads 1.5-2 G ohms…..WTH? The motor was changed 3 days ago before I got on board. I just joined this job yesterday and on the first dive this happens. The guys said the hydraulic pump is ok, so what else is there? HPU trips then works, then trips without any GFD’s. Stable power, good umbilical and good motor insulation test’s. What am I missing? Thanks guys!

Oh to add, we found a crack in the motor mounting. Maybe the motor and pump are misaligned and causing friction heat from the bearings…Any help is much appreciated.

Is it tripping on a Ground Fault or on Overload?
Only in water or does it on deck?
