Thanks for bringing this to our attention I see no reason for the information not to be displayed in full.

    Recruitment Fraud

Acergy has recently been the subject of a scam, whereby a hoax email containing a fraudulent offer of employment has been sent to a candidate, followed by a request for a cash payment for visa processing and legal fees. Any emails appearing to come from email address ‘expatriate-recruitment@acergy-group.com’ should be disregarded and immediately forwarded to abuse@acergy-group.com for investigation.

Acergy would like to assure candidates that it does not make offers of employment without first interviewing candidates and we do not ask candidates for any up-front payments relating to any offer of employment.

We are investigating this report and will take all necessary action to prevent this from recurring.

If you have any concerns about the validity of an offer of employment or any communication from Acergy, please contact: recruitment-fraud@acergy-group.com

    This worries me much! 😥

To be honest it should not worry you.

    As long as……..
The person is known to you that has sent the email (i.e. you’ve been in contact before regarding work) otherwise call the office (using a number you have on file or pull one from the company website) and confirm.

We email and receive emails all the time about work but this is from known people as a rule and generally preceded by a phone call.

If it was ‘first contact’ (without a prior phone call) I would want to speak to someone about rates, job duration. job location etc… not sure all that would have been supplied in the scam email.. although not having seen it myself I could be wrong there.
