But have heard through the grape vine that other guys working through compass and have been in china have had some issues. Is it true?? Heard one guy dipped out on 2 days pay and never got his flight paid?? Interested for sure but we all do it for money!!

Busy just now in darkest africa, hence the interest.September 27, 2007 at 5:36 pm #13688JamesParticipantI have worked for Compass twice in the past 8 months and have never had a problem with them. In fact, I have only had good experiences with them. The certainly pay on time……………… I hope this is helpful.
September 28, 2007 at 12:14 am #13690Scott BeveridgeParticipantNo problems with Compass. Steve is straight up. Any problems one would incur would be the company one works for and that’s usually the mobe / demobe logistics nightmares.
September 28, 2007 at 6:11 am #13691misiuekParticipantactually it was 1 day and the flight wasnt paid because he walked off just as the boat was about to sail (just after 1/2 agreed trip). for a simple silly reason that has been rectified ‘no internet’ which there is as i am on same ship same job!
soon to be waiting on weather and heading to port i hope!compass i would reccomend but then again i am biased.
regards

Are you saying that someone walked of a job because there was no internet onboard. ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗
Just trying to clarify as I have never heard of something so pathetic in my life,
Cheers

Still interested in asia but still stuck in africa for the minute.September 28, 2007 at 9:25 am #13694luckyjim37ParticipantIt is always interesting to find the truth behind a rumour there is always somthing that is missed out which kind of explains everything.
How do the pay rates compare to the agency rates paid in the UK?
Cheers

September 28, 2007 at 12:15 pm #13695AnonymousGuestHi Guys
Day rate in Asia is great, around 225 S$ a day, 3 months on 3 weeks off, love itSeptember 28, 2007 at 12:38 pm #13696misiuekParticipantactually we pay north sea rates for china and look for a 6 week commitment especially for our longer travelled fellows, for a local ie asia localled a 4 week trip can be arranged.
everything is negotiable especially rates 🙂as for the internet issue you would be surprised how many will not accept a contract with out it!
we do what we can!

Next time, Mis as stated in our emails.
Spotter, I don’t think they really believed those rates…. you should’ve added another $25 on top of that to make it a little more realistic 🙄
