Please advice. Why underwater searching for sunken objects people use side scan sonar, but do not use AUV? As far as I know AUV can operate much more efficiently and do not need to use the ship, and it saves fuel and crew costs. Aus also works regardless of the waves.
Please give me a tip – what disadvantages has AUV.
