Has anyone out there seen or heard of T3/T4 control software capable of running the manip either in a robotics mode for x, y, z, control of the arm or operating it as a bang bang in the event of Master Controller failure?

I am wanting to use the software as a fault finding tool and as a backup in the event of Master Controller failure, we all know what breaks first when the controller leaps off the console and makes a beeline for the deck and while costing in the region of £4500.00 for a replacement (Just the arm) not many systems hold a spare, if any.

I was once told of a system where the arm was controlled via a 3D mouse and could be operated pretty much as a TDU with precise X.Y.Z. control but having asked Schilling the answer I got was "we have done specific packages for customers" but no answer on generally available software

    Anyone heard of anything?

There is a robotics EPROM chip , but we only use this for function testing the manipulator and dont usually give them out .

    Cool, whats a gui ??

Also if I wanted to send the same string in say Hyperterminal over and over again to say, check a Nav or survey string any idea how its done, I know what the content of the string has to be but all i know about Hyperterminal is how to loopback and check a pair or mux channel.

    graphic user interface.

i’d use something like c and write up your own program to do something like that; never found hyperterminal to be that great in terms of flexibility.

    Ronjon,

I suggest you look at Docklight. It is much better than Hyperterminal
