    Hi Guys,
    Fantastic forums.
Can anybody tell me, after claiming my seafarers allowance can I also claim back any tax paid on some small savings I have in the bank ?

    Thanks to anybody who replies…..

    Yes..

You have a tax allowance, depending on your exact situation but should be around £7k these days. You can earn this income in the UK without paying tax. Any rental income or savings interest will be offset against this allowance, leaving your offshore income taxable…which you claim back hopefully with Seafarers’

Certificates of Interest on your bank accounts will detail the income for the year and should be included in your tax return.
