Folks,
I have acquired a load of Slingsby PCB’s, believed to be from Trojan vehicles, and I am trying to find out whether any of them are compatible with other Slingsby ROV’s such as the MRV’s, Spartans, etc.
I’ll touch base with the guys at Kirbymoorside to see if they can shed any light on it for me but thought that there might be some experienced Slingsby operators out there that might know?
Cheers,
MikeApril 15, 2010 at 8:59 am #27392rovnumptyParticipantMike
Speak to sonsub. They’ve got a load of scrap masquerading as slingsby’s finest. Think some of the old Trojan stuff can be used on the MRVs.
Ray Shields may be able to point you in the right direction.
These weren’t ‘aquired’ from greenwell road were they?
April 15, 2010 at 9:54 am #27393Mike KernaghanParticipantCheers Numpty,
No, not from Greenwell Road! I was half expecting someone to ask that question though.
‘Acquired’ probably wasn’t the correct word to use as we have bought these and have the paperwork to show that.

MikeApril 17, 2010 at 7:46 pm #27394Ray ShieldsParticipantHave you perchance bought these from Fugro who may or may not have sold off old ones from upgraded Spartans or MRV5 which has now been sent to the graveyard known as Singapore.
Are they A040-300 series boards (300, 301, 305, 308 etc)?
If you have any Singlge Board Computers (SBC) or Graphics cards you will find buyers for them as they have not existed for years but MRVs at least still use them.
April 26, 2010 at 4:53 pm #27395Mike KernaghanParticipantHi Ray,
Not from Fugro either. I have been in contact with Perry and they believe that some of them are actually XL PCB’s.
I’m in the process of putting a list together so once I have that it will hopefully be easier to find out exactly what vehicles they are from and also whether they are still used.
Cheers,

MikeNah… I bet Dan can do that from memory 😉
April 27, 2010 at 6:27 pm #27400Ray ShieldsParticipantIt was an MRV10 cut n paste 🙂
Because it has PCBs included that are not in earlier MRVs. 300 series boards are all SELMEC, later vehicles (and Super Spartans) started using 400 series and used SELNET.

April 28, 2010 at 1:19 pm #27402Ray ShieldsParticipantOED 202 HERSHMAN RX
OED 203 HERSHMAN TXI thought it was an OSD202 and OED202 for TX and RX, and that was the original 850nm fibre comms for vehicle. Most people have changed theirst to run on single mode with several data channels and video to match 🙂
I have a bigger list somewhere!
The Greenspring SBC (Single Board Computer) are worth a good bit as they no longer exist and the standard MRV uses 2, without it it just doesnt work.
April 28, 2010 at 1:28 pm #27403DANFROVKeymasterI am just copying an exsisting OLD inventory.
I thought it would be helpful for Mike to see a list of numbers rather than have to send a list for review.
Dan
