Customer Trainer
The Role
• Work within the SMD customer training team to develop and deliver customer training to SMD clients.
• Liaise with customers to ensure customer learning needs are met.
• Co-ordinate training with project management.
• Liaise with engineering to ensure new designs are captured within customer training programs.
• Maintain customer training records.
• Design and deliver internal product related training.
Requirements
• Personal Credibility – must have extensive ROV (oil and gas) and Trencher / plough experience preferably direct experience of SMD equipment
• Communication Skills – must be able to communicate ideas and concepts to learners and be able to assist clients requiring support with sensitivity and empathy.
• Technical Skills – must be an all rounder with extensive experience of control systems/ electronic / electrical /data comms /mechanical and hydraulic systems and hold a minimum of an HNC qualification in an engineering subject.
• Personal Skills – must be able to persuade learners to accept new concepts and methods of working. Excellent team player.
• Training Experience – this could be as a mentor or delivering small work based training this person must want to train and enjoy the training experience.
• Computer Skills- must be highly competent with MS office especially power point.
• Travel – The position is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne UK but there will be a requirement to travel and deliver training and support at remote locations independently.
