Aerotek Energy Services is seeking 2 Subsea Mechanical Technicians for our international client here in Houston, TX. These are immediate contract assignments that will last for about 3 – 8 weeks and paying between $15/hr – $20/hr/.
Job Title: SUBSEA MECHANICAL TECHNICAN – Houston, TX
Job Purpose: Perform mechanical assembly of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV’s) and related
systems.
Summarize and list the essential functions performed in this job:
1. Mechanical assembly of ROV products consisting of structural components, pumps, motors, valves and gearing.
2. Fabrication of hydraulic systems consisting of bending complex tubing runs, initial set-up and testing of pumps and valves, final integration testing and functional testing of complete hydraulic systems.
3. Perform tests including external/internal hydrostatic and/or pneumatic, static/dynamic weight and buoyancy, final integration and testing of complete ROV system.
4. Interface with Planning, Engineering and Quality Control to maintain high standards of quality
List the minimum qualifications and background required to fill this position:
1. Educational Background: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some technical training.
Two (2) years of trade school or higher education preferred.
2. Work Experience: Three to five (3-5) years experience in shop operations, hydraulics and mechanical
assembly.
3. Specific Skills: Use of basic hand and power tools, drill press and mill, tube bending equipment and
hydraulic test equipment. Ability to read blueprints and use various types of measuring tools. Must be
capable of lifting and moving material weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
