survival help?

Hello,
I’m currently living in India having just completed the ROV Pilot course from TUC, Fort William. I’ve read that as an absolute beginner, the BOSIET survival and UKOOA medical are should ideally be done to enter the industry. I contacted Falck Nutec and was considering getting it done there. I was wondering however, if I could do the same courses somewhere in or around India.
Does anyone know of any such recognised centres?

if you wanted to get a ROV course, why didn’t you go to Subnet located in the Philipines, you get the course plus the survival and the medical certificate there. i dunno what the course worth though.

Hi, I live in the Philippines, also did my course in FW (Oct-Dec) and I did my BOSIET and UKOOA here.

for UKOOA, I think you have clinics/doctors there in India for UKOOA

Hi.. Thanks for the replies. I found a UK approved doc in Mumbai itself where I live so no problem there.
With regard to the survival, there aren’t any OPITO approved centres in India. The BOSIET is offered in so many places like FAlck Nutec, RGIT Montrose, Warsash, Fleetwood, CTSI in Phil, Consist training in Malaysia and so many more. It basicly is the same course right? Cost aside, what is the difference in doing it from one or the other? From an emplyment point of view does it matter from where it is done?

As long as it is OPITO approved (double check, dont take the centres word for it!) they it should be accepted anywhere.

Should! But then it will depend on where you want to work. If you wish to work in the North Sea you need to have the Pan Eurpoean Survival, if you want to work in Norwegian sector, you also need to do the additional OLF survival training. You also need a seperate Norwegian medical to work there.
