When I worked there , It was with a company in the Gulf and we did not pay any tax.
I wouldn’t advise been paid in Rupees though 😀
Corrupt as the Indians are you would be lucky to get the pay packet envelope let alone the money 😆

Worked in India end of last year and begining of this. No tax paid. Agree with LB on the corruption though!!

I worked in India many years ago. I didn’t pay tax on a personal level, so it has to be assumed that any tax due was paid by the contractor involved.
