It has been agreed by Oil & Gas UK (the new name for UKOAA?) that when a passenger checks in for a flight to an offshore location, the production of a valid passport will hold important Aviation Security benefits, notwithstanding the requirement to carry a passport on a flight using foreign airfield diversions.
With effect from the 1st May 2008 all passengers bound for an offshore destination will be required to be in possession of a valid passport.
Please note other forms of identification, including EU I.D. Cards should not be accepted in place of a valid passport.
Those passengers whose passport has been sent for renewal or to have a visa added should provide a photocopy of their valid passport details.
It is important, particularly in the current climate, that all passengers get used to the requirement to carry a passport with them when travelling offshore.
