I have recently had a few emails and calls regarding US tax rebates, specifically from guys working for Subsea7 in the Gulf of Mexico. It seems that Subsea7 have been trying to pressure employees to sign-up to their preferred US accountant who is charging excessive fees.

Some of the UK resident employees have expressed a desire to utilise the services of a UK-based accountant.

The work involved is not technically difficult but is time-consuming as the IRS are not keen to hand back tax, especially to non-US citizens. There can be some going back and forth due to inconsistencies in the IRS requirements from case to case.

I have been acting for some onshore and offshore workers in the US for some years but have and I am pleased to now be able to provide services for the submission of US tax returns on a larger scale.

If you are interested then please get in touch. As always, I try to be transparent with what I can do and how much it will cost. At the moment I am charging £300 for the work to include the preparation and submission of the US tax return and follow up for any tax rebates due.

    I would not expect anything else from Subsea 7. 👿 👿 👿

Thanks for being so up front with costs. I’m sure anyone that may be interested in your services will be pleased see that.

I believe it’s the way it should be. Accountants notoriously are not upfront with costs. This is the way I have always worked – wysiwyg 🙂
