Fugro-Rovtech Limited currently has the following onshore vacancy based in Aberdeen:
ROV Project Engineer – Onshore Operations
Reports to: Business Line Manager
Job Scope:
Responsible for project engineering support activities on Drill Support Business Line projects. Assistance in the management of offshore operations after contract award. For some projects the Project Engineer may be required to assist in the contract tendering and negotiation phase. Additional involvement is required during intervention tooling works with clients, internal support services and 3rd party service suppliers of such equipment. Holiday and occasional cover for Project Managers when required.
Assist with project execution including, where required, delivery of final results.Responsibilities:
• Ensure safe, efficient and profitable execution of ROV projects, as allocated by the Business Line Manager;
• Ensure awareness, understanding and control of technical matters relating to the content of the project or contract;
• Assist with proper budgetary control on project and minor refurbishment costs; prepare, create and review invoices; recover costs from third parties where appropriate; deal effectively with any client invoicing disputes;
• Ensure fieldwork is efficiently planned; liase with clients to ensure all parties are fully informed of mobilisation/planning arrangements;
• Ensure equipment and consumables selected are suitable for the work. Assist with managing any modifications or changes that may be necessary with other departments;
• Take part in where necessary inter-departmental pre and post-project planning/sales meetings;
• Assist with project briefing to all relevant departments, and the project team; attend mobilisation for offshore worksite briefing;
• Assist with the selection of the project team in co-operation with department manager and operations department;
• Implement the Company’s QHSE Management Systems throughout all phases of the project;
• Assist with ensuring project reporting is properly managed, and delivered, in accordance with the client specification, and document control parameters. Any variations must be documented and additional cost recovered as necessary;
• Assist with input to tenders and contract negotiation in association with the Commercial Department;
• Assist with co-ordination with Commercial Department to ensure a smooth handover of the project from tendering to operational phase;• Ensure regular communication with the client throughout the work; document any changes to specification / workscope or claims. Follow up verbal discussions with written confirmation;
• Liaise with other project managers and department managers on co-ordination with other projects, to ensure optimal utilisation of resources;
• Pre-plan and co-ordinate mobilisation and demobilisation with assistance from operations department, other business lines and department managers;
• Training and use of Fugro Academy and Exit software
• Fully conversant with the MS Office Suite software
• Work as part of a team, assisting other Project Managers on large / multi-opco projects as required;
• Identify personal training needs and bring them to the attention of the Business Line Manager;
Continually seek to improve project performance thus assisting in maintaining a competitive edge for further development.
