Hi All, I’m registered on this site, and also on LinkedIn, and I received a notification today by email from a guy who is in a same Group as me on LinkedIn. He posted it a few days ago, but has updated today [01Mar 2011], so it may suit someone as it all sounds genuine, so good luck.

He is, his company, his name and position…
    Dennis Knox
Owner, MD of Ocean Surveys, Sciences and Engineering Associates Limited (OSSeas Ltd)

His public profile link on LinkedIn is:
    http://uk.linkedin.com/in/dennisknoxosseasltd

His discussion he opened on LinkedIn was for this position, so might be of interest for someone here in ROV World.

I am looking for an ROV Pilot Tech with strong background in sonar systems and if possible 20 years experience. Preferably living in or near London. C.V.s to newassociate@osseas.com
The person I am looking for will have extensive ROV experience, having probably been an ROV supervisor.
This would suit someone who is at the end of his career path as an offshore ROV operator / supervisor and would like to develop something that would enable him or her to work from home and take that knowledge and experience into a consultancy type role, advising projects and operators on the use of ROVs in general and specifically on their projects.
I have a client to is seeking help and advice with sonar systems so being strong in sonar knowledge would help right now.
This is not a job, but is an offer, to the right person, of inclusion as part of the OSSeas team.

No probs James…and hope it works out for someone, could end up being quite lucrative.
I know he says it is not a job, but to become an associate for an outfit like that must have its recompense in some financial way…here’s hoping.

    Hi Chris

Yes I have spoken to Dennis Knox regarding this post but its not a ROV job he wont go into much details but the person needs to live live London and have about 20 years experience with ROVs & Sonars , This is what Dennis said to me "I am not looking for a practical operator (there is no ROV to be driven), rather someone who would like to take their knowledge and experience and apply it in a consultancy role. " Same goes with the Sonar all very confusing ?

You may contact him direct Dennis Knox <newassociate>

    Cheers

I’m sure it could be of use to someone, ex Sup, Offshore project manager, looking to become shore based.

Good job for a bad pilot I reckon…
    Joking aside
I have been recently been working with subsea machines that use the same kit as we use on an rov .
Sounds like a good job to the right person

I’ve known Dennis for a while and he is a stand up guy who says what he means, and means what he says. I’m sure whomever ends up doing the consulting work will find it quite rewarding.

    Chief
