Responsible for performing Subsea Control System installation, integration, commissioning, testing and repair at both onshore and offshore locations.
DUTIES:
• Conduct yourself in line with company Vision and Values and ensure that safety is first consideration in any activities.
• Set up all equipment involved in site integration testing of Subsea Control Systems.
• Carry out site integration testing of Subsea Control Systems.
• Wiring up and testing of equipment during the commissioning phase of any project.
• Assessing of problems found on any system and actioning any remedial work involved as necessary.
• Installation of subsea control systems offshore.
• Troubleshooting problems reported by customers on any Subsea Control System.
• Ensure that all documentation, paperwork is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:
Comprehensive practical knowledge of electrical/electronic control systems to 440 Volts operating voltage including:
• Working knowledge of a wide range of electrical test equipment i.e. Megger, DMM, Storage oscilloscope, TDR, power supplies, etc.
• Termination and testing of a wide range of electrical glands, connectors, etc.
Familiarity with engineering drawings, including manufacturing drawings, general arrangement drawings and, in particular, electrical wiring diagrams.
Sound electrical engineering knowledge including:
• Circuit diagrams
• Measuring units and conversions.
• Basic maths and electronics/electrical calculations.
• Properties of electrical equipment.
• An appreciation of related subsea equipment i.e. trees, chokes, templates, manifolds, etc.
Other:
• Offshore experience is desirable but not essential.
• Applicant must be medically fit for work offshore.
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
• Four year electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Certificate Level 3 or Diploma or equivalent in electrical engineering.
• Experience of PLC’s would be an advantage.
