Are Fugro still recruiting because i have emailed them several times for information and had no reply.
This isn’t just directed at jimbo but is useful general advice for anypne trying to get a foot in the door.
If you are new name, to a company, email alone may not be enough.
If you consider how many emails these companies must get each day, which pretty much say the same thing, your email may well get lost in the cyber pile with the others. By all means email but talk as well.
You need to call and speak to a few people. Start with personnel and remember to get the name of the person you speak t so that next time you call you can ask for them by name.
Don’t just try sticking to one company either… use the same technique with all companies. Makes notes of who you speak to at each company and make more notes of the people that you felt gave you a better response. By that I don’t mean telling you what you want to hear just to get you off the phone… but people that seem to be interested and even offer advice themselves. It happens from time to time 🙂
