The way I look at it is I was being shafted for a long 2 yrs by OI, only to realise that the block I been calling a sup. is actually just a mate of one of the big dogs in Dubai and he’s been with company for 9mths and has really got a salary for only 4mths, literally been employed 4mths and he’s sup. I say thats bolux, and shit dont know nothin. Got a better deal somewhere.

Hi all,
lapua, there is no RovTech in SIN, they’re now Fugro. And the rates? Ummm… please review the ROV Rates thread… 😕
OI has always been and always will be in the Purple Circle mode. Sad… but true. Lots of their personnel have worn-out kneepads…
April 29, 2008 at 8:21 am #10470starParticipantscotbeve i take it your a good ol boy OI employee.. i assume your american too ha ha ha ha ha i left that so called purple whatever company.. and it was the best move i ever made..there is more to life than a magnum lol ! pleeeease! and oceaneering do not rule or run the ROV world..there are BETTER companies out there who are leading in the technology and rates!

Ummmm…. first question – NO, haven’t been for over 10 years thank you.
Secondly, your statement, yes American – ummmm yes as previously stated, known by your ever-loving-yourself-only and which you so properly slagged…. 🙄
And thirdly, well good for you!!! I’m sure OI and Co. miss you dearly!
Lastly, indeed! Let’s not go there 😆 😆 😆
May 19, 2008 at 12:16 pm #10472starParticipantyes yes scott lets not ever go back there again!
I do however say one thing there training is excellent for any new pilot techs.. they have a well thought out training programme. Where are you working now?May 19, 2008 at 7:00 pm #10474Scott BeveridgeParticipantyes yes scott lets not ever go back there again!

In Vietnam, workclass and eyeball systems onboard.
May 28, 2008 at 10:57 am #10473starParticipantOceaneering run some good courses and have a good training module package for new guys..
May 30, 2008 at 5:36 am #10475JB2ParticipantIts great as I’ve said before apart from the fact that most companies like USA GOM supervisors as they have a tendancy not to care to much about Feckin knockin feck out of the the systems??
Anybody want to have a guess why?If I had a dollar for every GOM supervisor I’ve seen that doesn’t posess a pair of coveralls and lives in an Oceaneering badged denim shirt and flip flops. I too might get chance to work for £225 converted from thier day rate in dollars!!
Its the sole reason and only why we are NOT allowed to work GOM full stop. You tell your oppo that you get $750 a day and its a bum rate anywhere else!!
But I’ll say one thing for getting the SSE’s(short service employees) to start on the PC first it does let you get on with more on the internet lol!!
August 10, 2008 at 7:25 am #10476DJansenParticipantSaipem are loosing alot more than that.. crap jobs, shite food and tightfisted HR dept. has scared alot of experienced guys away.. wish I knew where they were going and I’d go too…
November 4, 2008 at 2:41 am #10477sp00k_daddyParticipantSheesh OI flamers, must of not been able to cut it, glad to see they could train you to go out and screw up the competitions jobs and equipment. Like they always say sometimes your best employees don’t even work for you !
November 4, 2008 at 9:53 am #10478James McLauchlanParticipantI’ve not worked for OI.
From what I read and hear I don’t think it’s a case of not being able to cut it. More a case or realising that elsewhere there are better rates and better (maybe not bigger) companies to work for.
