    Hi guys ❓

Was wondering if you can help???

What tax would you pay if say you were working in the Gulf of Mexico, for a US company but still had home in the UK? I have heard that you still pay UK tax if in US territorial waters?

Can someone give me some advice on this please?

If you are outwith US waters tyhen is it Tax free? And working in the Persian Gulf, is that Tax free also??

    Thanks in advance guys

GoM work for a US company you can claim back your UK tax but after 183 days in US waters you become a non-resident alien and are liable for US tax which you can’t get back. It’s a very confusing area. I’m working for a US company who have set up a seperate department out of the US for the Brits so we don’t pay US tax even though we’re working in the GoM.

Never had any problem claiming my tax back from work in the Persian Gulf.

Which company are you looking at?

    😉

Thanks for getting back to me.

I am looking at joining Superior Offshore in the near future, and was just trying to get ahead of the game slightly.

    Thanks for your help
