    You need to consider that Companies that were short of PT’s would make anyone up to fill a slot regardless of their experience. This would enable them to charge the person out to the client at PT rate and make some money off them whereas often (traditionally) trainees have to be placed as extras to the normal team level. This is at company (ROV operator not client) expense thereby costing them money.

    This is verging on off topic but I feel that the OP will gain from what is being debated as they are looking for work at this level so the discussion is probably relevant.

    Because I passed all the competences to become a grade II pilot/ tech, which anyone with some small experience in any technical position can achieve after three months. I think the trick is to not fool yourself by looking at the IMCA competences, but rather look to yourself and be honest of where you stand within the ROV team, when the sh*t hits the fan!
