I’d like to start a discussion on ROV umbilical terminations used on the submerged end or working end. Specifically, large ROVs that require a LARS with some form of tether management and/or locking mechanism of the termination body. Does anyone have experience installing terminations on umbilicals? I would like to know if there is an off the shelf product to do this or if it is a more application specific design? As for the installation process, how long does the actual install take as well as the resultant down time?
Thanks in advance – I am looking for industry feedback for a new product relating to ROV terminations and I want to know as much as possible about what is in the market now. The intention is to improve wherever possible, whether it’s features to reduce installation time or a design that performs better.
