Well its 2013 and the silly rate award goes to ACZ trying to hire experienced Sea Eye personnel for 375 Euros .

Most company’s over in Holland are paying well over 600 – 700 Euros .

Hi Guys Just when you thought the rates could not get lower I just came across this :-

ROV Supervisor – 12 Month Contract (Extendable) – Middle East

Duration: 12 Month Contract (Extendable)
Rotation and Working Conditions:6 weeks on 4 weeks off
Salary: $400 – $500 per day + Flights

Thats £261 – £327

There looking for people with experience on Triton, Sealion, Installer and FCV class.

I dont know were they get these rates from I think we were both on these type of rates over 25 years ago .

I did put forward a few trainees that I knew were looking and they all got turned down due to lack of experience the company is looking for people with 10 – 15 years in the game , They wont get it with those silly rates !

Same every year !

Just received an e-mail with Sonsub rates on it:-

We have the following requirement for the S7000

Position: ROV Supervisor (£480)

Required: To mob 24/4/13

Location: Norway – Must have Norwegian certs

Duration: 4 or 6 weeks duration with possibility of long term thereafter subject to satisfactory performance

Position: Senior ROV PT (£445)

Required: To mob 24/4/13

Location: Norway – Must have Norwegian certs

Duration: 4 or 6 weeks duration with possibility of long term thereafter subject to satisfactory performance

We have the following requirement for the Castroro II

Position: Supervisor/Superintendent (£480) – TRITON EXPERIENCE

Required: To mob ASAP

Location: Saudi

Duration: 4 or 6 weeks duration with possibility of long term thereafter subject to satisfactory performance

Sonsub are offering an increase rate for the above, for this trip only due to the urgency.

Please note that the client is looking for candidates with heavy workclass constriction experience.

Each year I think a few companies try it on early in the UK season hoping to catch a few desperate people that have run their funds down to the bone over the winter. Still don’t know why they bother as, once again, anyone they get on those rates is likely to be well below par IMHO.

Plus if you work in Norway on a Oil + Gas Projects your subject to local tax so this £480 is not what your going to make a day , More like £325 .

Now they will tell you dont worry your get it back , Since this is going to be a one off job your be put on some thing like emergency tax .So be warned as Sonsub dont seem to have this in their ad .

So dont give up the day job just yet !

I think the only people making money at the moment are the rov training schools .

Start Date: Various starts through out Summer. Earliest requirements start beginning of June – onward.
Location: Brazil , Norway, China, Baku, Angola, Nigeria ,Congo and Saudi
Trip Length: 4-5 WEEKS – 3 years worth of work available.

Rates: Supervisor – £490
Senior Pilot – £450
Pilot Tech 1 – £415

Vessels working in West Africa and Norway carry a 10% uplift to the rate – If you dont have norwegian certs but would be interested in working there our client would be happy to pay for these if you are ok to do them on arrival.

Are you Suitable? – minimum entry level

· Our client asks for 300+ ROV offshore flying hours with workclass systems
· You MUST have OPITO and UKOOA
· You Must have worked on construction projects with workclass ROV. Ideally for 2-3 years minimum.

Immediately dropped into the bin….is it no wonder that the client is struggling to get staff, and the agencies have a ‘large demand’.
So much so, they’ll even pay for your Norwegian certs ❗

10% uplift is a disgrace for Africa and Norway
Most O & G companies offer 40% as a minimum

But they are fixed rates I hear the agents cry – nonsense

Yes I think your find that is Zamil Mermaid Offshore , If you work direct rates for a Sup are $825+ USD , Thats what they were paying last year .
Superintendents were $875 USD

Rates for travel were only 50%

Vehicle being used is a predator rov I have no idea what make this is ? ok its made by Seatronics
