    Hi,

I have looked at the pay rates and did not find one for equatorial Guinea.
Could some one give me a date rate for a sub engineer day rate and any other information that I could use will be appreciated

I think you should be asking for a lot:

Not such a silly suggestion given the risk/reward value.

don’t agree that Guinea and Equatorial Guinea are the same.
For a start they are over 500miles apart.

There is no war in Equarorial Guinea.

Equatorial Guinea is fine, although take a good mossies spray.
Just remember, you are on ROV’s, so hopefully you will be going offshore. I wouldn’t take a holiday there.

Most companies will pay standard Sub Eng rate plus an uplift for West Africa.

Mate, if you have to ask on here what rate you should be working for, well……………

What day rate and uplift rate do you think is reasonable?

    Mag50,

Go to the Rates thread and decide for yourself (by using that regions’ rates of course).

It would be no less than 400 GBP but it depends how you are employed and by whom.

Sonsub only pay 366 GBP for Sun Eng and there is 10% Bonus for west africa also if you go Nigeria they pay another 11 % but for the other places in west africa Sonsub would only pay you just over 400 GBP a day as a Sub Eng on Agency.

The risk there is the same as in most of west africa unknown

Charge three sheckles and a goat , make sure contents insurance is applicable ( ie laptops ) 😀
Other than that £ 1000:00 sounds quite reasonable 8)

I think its a bit strange…you say your a Sub Eng but asking advice on rates….If you been in the game long enough to take the correct route to Sub eng…you should really know….. 🙄

Might be the give away there in the name, if he is GOM Oceaneering his rates are so far wrong of anyone else in the world that the questin is asked.
They can be on as little as $50.00 per day plus salary basic(re-Crap)

So soon to be EX OI if your any good and dont gob off like most of your countrymen you should be able to command circa $600-$700 per day anywhere in the world plus uplift for West Africa to with no probs.
